I left a piece of my heart in Seville!!! It’s hard to describe the “feel” of a city, but if you have traveled much, you might know what I’m talking about. Seville, Spain won us over pretty quickly! The friendly people, the language, and the food!! It was a very walkable city with little streets which we would call alleyways meaning there were little to no cars in the city center. We spent an afternoon in a beautiful park (Parque de Maria Luisa) enjoying a picnic, viewing sculptures and fountains, and the boys throwing football. We searched out the best seafood paella in the city and made the most of our short time there.

We toured the Royal Alcazar Palace and gardens in Seville. It is a palace that is still occupied by the royal family when they are in Seville. It had beautiful architecture of many different styles (Muslim, Christian, Gothic, Renaissance).
Plaza de Espana was another amazing architectural site. We rode a horse and carriage around the city and saw many cathedrals. Hard to beat the Iberico ham, morning and afternoon cortados (espresso with a little milk), fresh pastries, and stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate shavings) or Pistachio gelato!

One of the highlights of our entire trip and something on our bucket list was hiking the Caminito del Rey about 2 hours outside of Seville in Malaga, Spain. It is known as the King’s Pathway and has been described as the “world’s most dangerous walkway.” We were decked out in helmets and hugging the steep walls of a narrow gorge above a raging river and crossing a suspension bridge!! What an amazing experience that pictures do not do justice!

Next. . . we go to Barcelona, Spain
